Biography
Charlie Munger grew up in Omaha, served as a meteorologist in the Second World War, and built a law practice before turning to investing. For decades he was Warren Buffett's partner at Berkshire Hathaway. The wealth is not the interesting part; the method is. He built what he called a latticework of mental models, frameworks borrowed from psychology, physics, biology, and history, applied together on any serious problem. He distrusted narrow expertise, read constantly, and treated avoiding stupidity as a higher art than seeking brilliance.

A reflection
He was not being morbid. The point is that avoiding obvious dangers beats chasing brilliant outcomes, and that knowing your weak spots lets you simply stay away from them. Spend a moment on your own version of that place: the hour of night when your decisions go bad, the kind of conversation that always ends poorly. You do not need a plan to fix it today. Name it clearly, the way you would mark a hazard on a map, and route around it.
